-
Look around our school and Reception provision
-
Meet members of our friendly and experienced staff
-
Find out more about life at Lowercroft
-
Ask questions about the school and the admissions process
Children born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023 are eligible to start Reception in September 2027.
Daytime school tours
If you are unable to attend our Open Evening, we will also be offering daytime tours while the school is open.
As pupils will be in lessons, tours must be booked in advance. Keeping the groups small helps us to minimise disruption to learning and gives families a better opportunity to look around and ask questions.
Please contact the school office to arrange a visit:
Telephone: 0161 761 2798
Email: lowercroft@bury.gov.uk
Information shared during the Open Evening will also be made available on our school website.
Outdoor learning
Our fantastic Reception outdoor area provides exciting opportunities for children to play, discover and learn in a safe and stimulating environment.
Outdoor learning is an important part of our Early Years curriculum. It helps children develop their physical skills, imagination, independence and social confidence. Children enjoy active, hands-on experiences where they can investigate, take appropriate risks, be creative and learn in all weathers.
We see the outdoors as an extension of the classroom—a place where curiosity is encouraged, friendships grow and learning comes to life.

Applying for a Reception place
Bury Council is responsible for allocating places at Lowercroft Primary School. Its School Admissions Team will provide information about the application process and how to apply for a primary school place.
Application forms and further guidance can be found by searching for primary school admissions on the Bury Council website.
Parents and carers will be notified of their child’s allocated school place on 16 April 2027. We will then contact families whose children have been offered a place at Lowercroft with further information about starting school.
Getting ready for September
We want every child’s transition to Lowercroft to be happy and successful. Before children begin Reception, we will offer:

-
Optional home visits during the first week of the autumn term
