New “Above & Beyond” Awards at School 🌟

We are excited to introduce our new Above & Beyond Award, designed to recognise children who consistently demonstrate our school values in exceptional ways.

This award sits above our weekly certificates and is all about celebrating those moments when children truly go the extra mile—whether through kindness, effort, resilience, or by being a positive role model for others.

🎟️ How it works

When a child does something above and beyond what is expected, they may be given a raffle ticket.

This could be for:

  • Showing outstanding kindness or empathy
  • Demonstrating resilience and determination
  • Making significant personal progress
  • Consistently living out our school values

Importantly, this is not about being the “best” academically. We recognise children for going beyond their own starting points.

Each raffle ticket:

  • Is entered into a half-termly prize draw
  • Counts towards earning a special star badge

⭐ Star Badge Rewards

Raffle tickets are collected over time, across a child’s whole journey through the school.

Children can earn:

  • 🥉 Bronze Badge – 2 tickets
  • 🥈 Silver Badge – 5 tickets
  • 🥇 Gold Badge – 10 tickets
  • 💎 Platinum Badge – 25 tickets

These badges recognise consistent effort and positive choices over time, not just one-off moments.

🏆 Half-Term Celebrations

At the end of each half term:

  • One raffle ticket will be drawn to win a special prize
  • The child with the most raffle tickets will receive a special reward and recognition
  • If there are children with the same amount of tickets, they will go into a separate draw to win the special reward.

🌈 Why we are doing this

We want all children to feel proud of:

  • Their effort
  • Their attitude
  • The way they treat others

This system helps us celebrate children who quietly and consistently do the right thing, as well as those who rise to challenges and show determination.
